Business Layer
Privacy Policy
Last updated October 17, 2026
This page explains what happens to your information when you visit businesslayer.ai or apply for a call. Business Layer is my consulting practice. I’m Josh Witt, and you can reach me at [email protected] with any question about this policy.
What I collect
- Your application. When you send the apply form, I receive your name, your email address and your answers to the two questions on the form.
- Emails you send me. If you write to an address at businesslayer.ai, I receive your message and your email address.
- Basic technical data. Like every website, the servers that deliver this site see your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and count visits.
I don’t ask for payment details on this site, and I don’t sell or rent your information to anyone.
How I use it
- To read your application, reply to you and schedule a call.
- To deliver the work if we decide to work together.
- To keep the site running, secure and free of spam.
Services that handle your data
- Hosting. The site runs on WordPress on a server I control at Oracle Cloud in the United States. Applications are stored in the site’s database there.
- Email. Application alerts and email to businesslayer.ai addresses are delivered through Google Gmail. Cloudflare Email Routing forwards mail sent to businesslayer.ai addresses to that inbox.
- Cloudflare. Cloudflare delivers and protects the site, and Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits without using cookies.
- Google Fonts. The site’s fonts load from Google’s servers, which means your browser shares your IP address with Google when the page loads.
Cookies and your device
The site doesn’t set tracking or advertising cookies for visitors. While you fill in the apply form, a draft of what you’ve typed is saved in your own browser, so you don’t lose it if you leave the page. It’s deleted once the application is sent, and it never leaves your device unless you send the form. WordPress only sets cookies when an administrator logs in.
How long I keep it
I keep applications and emails for as long as I need them to reply, to work with you and to keep normal business records. You can ask me to delete them at any time.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information I hold about you. Email [email protected] and I’ll take care of it.
Children
This site is for business owners and isn’t directed at children under 16. I don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If I change how I handle your information, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
